A combo is two or more pieces chosen to be worn together, priced below what those pieces cost separately. The point is not only the saving - matching is the part most people get wrong, and a set removes the decision.
These are built around a working day rather than an occasion: earrings and a pendant that hold up from a morning standup to an evening out, in one metal tone so nothing clashes.
A set works because everything in it shares a finish. Mixing tones can be done deliberately, but it is a harder look to carry and not what a combo is for.
Statement earrings pair with a quiet pendant, or the other way round. Two loud pieces compete and neither wins.
If you already own a workhorse pair of studs, pick a combo that adds a pendant or a bracelet instead of a second pair you will not reach for.
A set is the safer gift because most of it needs no size. A ring is the one part that does - and an open band solves that.
A three-piece set is only better value than a two-piece if you reach for all three. Two pieces you wear weekly beat three where one stays in the box.
